HORTUS TOXICUS

 
     

These works are an imagined botanical response to the historic use and dependence on petroleum products. The individual species are proven phytoremediators of motor oil, but as illustrated here, they have evolved and self-hybridized into a foray of fictional flora, growing out of and around vintage motor oil containers.
