Kari Englehardt is a visual mixed media artist working
within a practice that looks to plants as record-keepers, raconteurs,
and reflections of our own civilization. With a body of work rooted
at the intersection of the natural and built environments, her
goal is to incite a critical dialogue on the vital importance
of plant life within our shared biosphere. Previous exhibitions
have centered on issues such as abandoned and orphaned oil wells,
petroleum phytoremediation, habitat loss, transboundary migration
and native plant ecology.
Kari holds a Bachelors of Science from the University
of Texas, Austin and a certificate in Botanical Illustration from
the New York Botanical Garden. Her work has been shown nationally
and is included in both private and corporate collections.
Kari has recently relocated her artist workspace,
Brilliant Studio, from TX to the rural NW corner of CT.
