Statement: Finding Home

My work explored the visceral reaction to simple iconic imagery. Compositionally including a strong horizontal line provided an important counterpoint. Using the encaustic medium implied a sense of time evolving. Applying and scraping back layers of wax, created both a sense of visual and emotional depth.
